This week is a low training one for me, so productivity should be at a high (in theory), and I've got an anxious to-do list that's actually getting scribbled on. I'm trying something new with the old to-do list on low weeks: I've included morning reading time, bubble bath, new recipes, family/friend time, sleeping in, and solo movie night!

This is also a good time to reflect back on the training I've done and look forward to the weeks ahead. In taking time to do this, I can't help but realize the gains I've made already in less than 3 months. I've just completed a successful four week training block, I've remained healthy and with good energy, I'm involved in the ski communities and their programs, I'm living on my own and making ends meet, and I'm confident that my next blog will continue to convey the gains and improvements I feel in training.

I'm continuing the Fort Kent Jalbert program and am very excited to see some new faces. Same time, same place: Thursdays, 6pm, 10th Mtn Center. This week, I started rollerski instruction with the 21st century program at NHC. Today's small but talented group had three new skiers. Two of them asked, "where can I buy rollerskis?" Ahhhh, success!

In other exciting news: Tonight's salad will be picked straight from my garden! Maybe I'm more excited than I should be, but considering that I owned only one pot of flowers last year and couldn't manage to keep them alive, this is a great improvement.

I've had the perfect balance of training, socializing, family time and me time. Today is Day One. Day One of my first year back. I'm sure I'll be in the Honeymoon phase for quite some time so please excuse me if I seem way too excited about cold rainy distance workouts or gut wrenching intervals. It's beyond great to live the Nordic skier lifestyle again.

I'm also smoothing out details for summer work which will consist of a few smaller jobs. I'll be continuing the Jalbert program in Fort Kent this summer which begins Thursday, June 24th at 6pm. I'll also be working with the 21st century program at NHC getting kids fired up about rollerskiing and the great outdoors. Lastly, I may be spending some time at Eureka Hall in Stockholm waitressing.

A couple weekends ago, I went hiking at Golf Hagus in the Millinocket area. It was an exceptionally gorgeous day, with new and exciting views and good company. I'd love to spend more time hiking this summer especially in the Katahdin area. Here's a few spring-time pictures!
